Welcome to the Royse City church of Christ web site. It is our hope that you will find information which will answer questions you may have as to who we are, what we do, and why we do what we do. Included here is some doctrinal material, articles from the weekly bulletin, and other helpful information.
Sermon for 2/18/2018

“Saved by Baptism”

1 Pet. 3:21
The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
Salvation: God had a plan even before creation to save mankind. 1 Pet. 1:18-20 explains that Christ was "foreordained before the foundation of the world," to shed his precious blood, dying for the sins of the world.

The Bible reveals to us that there are many aspects which contribute to the salvation which God gives. Previously we have examined the Bible doctrine that we are, “Saved by His Blood” (1/21/2018), “Saved by His Grace” (1/28/2018), and are also, “Saved by Faith,” (2/04/2018); but not by faith alone. In fact, the only place where the two words “faith” and “only” appear together is in James 2:24, where it distinctly declares that one is NOT saved by faith alone. Rather, it unequivocally states that one is justified by works, which we studied this past Sunday morning (2/11/2018) in the sermon “Saved by Works." Note, that neither is it said here nor in any other passage that one is saved by works alone, nor is anyone saved by any other aspect of salvation alone.

This coming Sunday, February 18, 2018, the fact that Baptism is essential to one's salvation will be explored. This will be the last in this series “Saved by. . .” Take note that Jesus (“the author and finisher of our faith” — Heb. 12:2) commanded that one be baptized in order to be saved (Mark 16:16). The question I pose is, “Whom are you going to believe?”

When one ignores explicit Bible doctrine on any subject he short circuits his ability to know the “full counsel of God” (Acts 20:26-27). Here at the Royse City church of Christ we strive to have open minds like those in Berea who “received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so” (Acts 17:11).

We invite you to come and hear, and see for yourself what the Bible says on this important topic.

We invite you to join us, to come worship with us as we purpose to glorify the Father in heaven.
